What Is A Steward
What is a steward? A steward is a person who manages the affairs of a household or an estate for the owner. In the Christian sense, a steward is the manager of God’s affairs on Earth. God has made each of us a steward and has blessed us with many talents, abilities and possessions which are intended for use in service to God and our fellow human beings. We must remember, everything we have or have become comes from God. Our time, talents, treasures, relationships, health, the environment and the Gospel are to be viewed with a sense of awe, reverence and gratitude. How much we have is not as important as what we do with what we have.
"LIKE GOOD STEWARDS OF THE MANIFOLD GRACE OF GOD, SERVE ONE ANOTHER WITH WHATEVER GIFT EACH OF YOU HAS RECEIVED." I Peter 4: 10
Are You Willing to Share Your Faith Story?
As many of you recall, last year and in other years, in the weeks leading up to stewardship Sunday, members of our Advent family shared their personal stewardship faith stories from the pulpit during worship. The practice of story sharing regarding the giving of time, talents and treasures has been so well received, that we would like to continue this as an ongoing practice throughout the year. If you feel that God is calling you to share your story, even if it doesn't relate directly to stewardship, please contact Pastor Steve or the church office at any time. If you are not a public speaker, you may share your story in our monthly newsletter, The Candle.
Do you have a story to tell? We'd love to hear it! Contact us.
