Sunday School

Sunday school begins each Sunday morning at 10:05am with “Gathering” in the Education Hallway. Gathering brings all of our youth together, to center themselves with Jesus, before classroom learning takes place. During our time together, the bible story of the day will be highlighted, offering gathered, birthday’s celebrated, voices raised in song, prayers lifted, and sharing the love of Jesus among each other.

Sunday school classes:
3’s / 4’s Teachers: Hilary Killeen
5’s / K Teacher: Maggie Gibson

In class learning takes place from 10:15 – 11:15am. We are using “Spark” curriculum this year. Spark is bible based classroom leaning, highlighting the key Old & New Testament stories. For a closer look at the curriculum, visit www.wearesparkhouse.org

Sunday school offering:
The collected offering will be designated to support Hannah’s Home Ministry this year.  Along with or instead of monetary donations, we will also encourage the youth to donate baby items (ie: diapers, baby bottles, pacifiers, rattles, receiving blankets, etc.)    What does it mean to serve others; what does it mean to give out of love.

Jesus said, “I give you a new commandment: love one another; as I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” John 13:34

WAYS TO TELL YOUR CHILDREN “I LOVE YOU”
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not
boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it
keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-7

In these times when parents are stretched with one job or
even two jobs, and a variety
of other responsibilities,
remember to take the time to invest in the lives of your kids
and tell them you love them.

Just a partial list of ways:

Tossle their hair.

Give them a hug.

Wake them up with a kiss instead of hollering at them.

Make their favorite meal tonight.

Ask them for their opinion,
and then let them give it.

When you are with them,
really be with them.
Talk to them while not reading a book or newspaper.

Write them a note or card
and mail it.

Text them a short and simple “text hug.”

Have one-on-one dates for a movie or a walk in the park.

Look at pictures of family times and re-tell the stories.

Believe in them.

Pray for them daily.

Love them enough to listen.

Ban the words “I told you so” and “When will you ever learn?”

Love them enough to say “no”

Look for ways to encourage them and support them.

Teach them the
value of money.

Teach them graciousness towards others.

Forgive them their trespasses.

And the list goes on –
your turn!
